Good morning from the lakeside deck ~

emerging sun lights up the sky

colors are a’changing

on its way up to shine

streaming across the woodlands

rising before it’s really known

moving from blues to golds

Oh~ the glory shines

as some traveler

stopping by

but not yet really staying

morning light moves downward into the hallows

filling the mighty earth’s shadowy ground

such a soft gentle light

and the air

is summertime warm

sometimes I find

it’s hope talking to me

morning rising

TREE STAND

I sit high in a tree stand

if I was a child again

I would climb these old tree limbs

and never tire of being here

now I am old

as I sit here on my redwood deck

up high in the trees ~ so high

I can touch the sky

My morning write ~

White As Snow

the white of a southern magnolia bloom

is a perfect white on white like snow

deeply beautiful & perfect

yet fragile in its fleeting beauty

once picked from it’s true home

the bloom quickly fades

what can we ever truly hold?

My morning write ~

Official sunrise 5:58 am

Bear Cove on Lake Ann

2nd sunrise 6:32 am

Out of the northern sky

Rises this morning’s second sunrise

Over the Ozarks’ Bear Hollow Ridge

What magic is this?

Another summer solstice is coming ~

Enveloped already stamped and signed

With air special delivery

Costs borne & money paid

Oh, the beauty & the peace of earth’s promised rising sun ~ twice!

“Lake Ann along Bear Hallow”IMG_7299

My morning write,

OLD MAN BEAR

My shoulders are wrapped around by a high mountain ridge
framing blue skies and lake waters
sitting amongst green lush woodlands
beside the hallows belonging to old man Bear and I
we sit along the shores
watching morning fade into the brightness of day
each of us becoming whole again

Good morning from the lakeside deck ~

SKY & I

I deeply breathe in
the same air as mighty oaks
I pause
and hold onto the fresh scented summer air
I feel
the winds as they rush wildly through
Underneath nature’s sky dome
sitting side-by-side with forested trees
looking up in beauty
while white summer clouds
move over Lake Ann’s cove

We are one ~
sky & I are the same
trees & lake waters & God’s green earth
the wind & I are too
I choose life
I choose love
Now together!

Mr. Judge Me Not #NaPoWriMo Day 23

Mr. Judge Me Not

Judge me not, Oh, sir
As I have waited for this day for so long
To sit myself by the water in full sunshine and delight
Oh, joy finds me always when
I can just simply sit!
— Come my day —

Heavenly Light April National Poetry Month Day 22

Heavenly Light

Oh, what a beautiful day . . .
This
This day
Where spring’s beauty explodes
Red buds now fading into their green leaves
And are replaced by the full vivid white blooms of dogwood trees
The forest glows even in the hallows
I stand in heavenly light!

Night Skies April National Poetry Month Day 21

Night Skies

Standing in the night void
Empty Black Oak and Hickory trees lean in
Lyrids Meteor Showers arrive in April’s clear night skies
Lighting up the sky along with our next door neighbors
Neptune, Mars and Venus
And the Man in the Moon exits now
As he fades into the new moon
Dark, but all still here!
