I awaken
Upon this morning’s rise
Sky dancing
In morning glory blues
And fields of lavender pinks
Peers of Aqua marine patches
Melt away
Through stone bluffs
And woodland trees
I hear
A lone blue heron’s call
Followed by
A rushing raven’s
Fly away
And a small tree peeper’s cheer
I feel
The grey pewter waters below
Holding its bare blackened forest
With this night’s thick dampness
My earth responds
Back to me
In a sweet cold calm

Love this poem, reads so smoothly and transports me quite beautifully to that early morning tranquillity! 🙂
I was wondering if I could publish this wonderful poem in the next issue of a free online literary magazine of mine?
It has four issues published at the moment (one every two months) and regularly gaining new readers and followers by email as well as WordPress followers. There are no printed copies or any money involved for myself or the writers. So it’s free for anyone to read, and the aim is primarily to help promote writers on websites and blogs from all over the internet. https://thewritinggarden.wordpress.com/
The copyright remains with the writer and I always include a link back to where the work was originally published and also any other social media links you’d like me to include (please let me know which ones – if you have any).
If you would be interested in allowing me to publish your work please check out the magazine and let me know. But if you’d rather not, don’t hesitate to say no, I really won’t mind.
Suzy 🙂

That’s great news Joanie! Would you like to use your real name in the credits, or should I just list your profile name? Either one or both will be fine with me.
The next issue should be published early September. When it’s completed I’ll get back to you here with a link.
Thank you very much! 🙂
