I watched Saturn’s rising
through the velvet night sky
I followed the star’s eastern path
until the morning sky turned into
silvery silvery blue
blue on blue

carrying away the cold blackness of night
born into Saturn’s new light
and a promise of more stars
Mercury follows the new sun
spining directly bleow the earth’s horizon
following this ancient journey of light

I catch the morning’s glow
tucked away into my pocket
to hold
to know about
to find
second chances
in the pink glow
of a new sky dawn

making room on my mountain top
