indigo skies
on a clear starry night
gives way to
a gentle dawn
held in a whisper blue
I sit with a silken sunrise
trying out my new solstice dawn
light embers
spread overhead
creating our lake’s sky dome
ever changing
cerulean blue
and raspberry plum
a true mixed palate
flowing
like a beautiful new scarf
placed over my head
quietly folding
into the curves
of my day
golden light now shines
upon shoreline bluffs
velvet golden shelves
and limestone ledges echo back
to a honey dew sun
morning light filters through
bent woodland boughs
sky winds meet me on the rise
shadows emerge
awakening
I rise to my day
refreshed
in silent prayer
while the world sleeps
yet never still
