Spring soaked earth, twigs and grass
And I ~ walking out upon my day
Glancing down with each careful step
I find nature playing along the hill sides
Within the white limestone trails
Tracing time in lyric and rhyme
Found among lands laid to waste and fill
Holding the shoreline at bay
A postscript note sent by special delivery
A most sweet surprise
Like a great flash upon a new horizon
A painting from yesteryear
Fairy tales and unicorns prancing along a forest trail
Joined by two love birds, swooning swans
Butterflies and feather dust trails
Oh, what a magical find I made
I see you and you see me . . .
Looking back at once upon a time
“spring soaked earth ….. each careful step…”
love that! this time of year, when everything's just waking up and the earth is thrum, thrum, thrumming it does feel like we need to step lightly. Glad you were paying attention and got to be delighted by this find.
thanks for sharing!

Tracing time in lyric and rhyme – that was really delightful and I loved the fairy tale ending.
