I awoke early this morning as the darkness of full “night-hood” kept everything void of light. As I made my coffee and stepped outside, a smokey smell of campfires greeted me. I sat in my lakeside chair and wrapped my mother’s hand-guilted blanket around my shoulders, keeping warm and staying outside for a while. I marveled at the number of house and yard lights. Now that most of the woodland leaves had fallen for the season, the land and sky had opened up. I could see much more, including Bear Hollow Cove and most of Upper Lake Ann.

Starting my day ~ my morning writing ~ I contemplate God’s love for us and am grateful!
