Nature, Poetry, Summer

A Summer Rose

grey clouds hang

morning air thick with dew

sowing rain drops

hummingbirds dart by
chasing each other away
nectar still theirs for taking

I tipped toed by a sleeping frog
eyes hidden just below the surface
I see you blink

a dragonfly stilled
upon the white summer rose
and her unmoved
