Please don’t worry
the earth is still here ~
the wind and the sky ~
they wait for us
This indigo sky ~
on a clear starry night
gives way to a gentle dawn ~
held in a whisper blue
in a silken sunrise
overhead light bearers ~
create an ever-changing kaleidoscope!
Carilion bluegrass
berry plums and
flamingo pinks
mixed in famous hues and colors
moving and flowing like
a beautiful new scarf
placed over my head
quietly and with ease
folding into the curves of my day
I close my eyes
I see the end of day,
rich in golden light
now shining on Lake Ann’s shorelines
velvet golden shelves
frozen in limestone ledges
The tops of the hills light up
catching tree tops
in brand new bold strokes ~
and painting grand
Golden swaths of fire
light keeps moving west
and west again
as it falls into shadows
echoing back to a honeydew sun,
filtering light moves these woodland Hills into evening
I can hear love songs,
deep and ancient
Skywinds meet me on the rise
There in twilight
I emerge awakening
to see my day refreshed
in a silent prayer ~
while the world sleeps
yet never still
