April 1, April National Poetry Month
I challenge you to write each day this month and post here on Lake Ann’s Poetry”s Group. Let’s make a difference in someones’ day — In lifting someone up, we lift everyone!
I had to go see my daughter
Because I couldn’t take it any longer
Driving over
Texting I had arrived
Hesitantly walking through the courtyard
I stood outside, by the gate
There we spoke in a big way
Speaking of this virus hell
Turning the world upside down
Before turning to leave
She said, “Do you need any hand sanitizer?”
I simply nodded my head
And she slightly opened the door
Throwing out 4 small bottles
Made my day . . .
Because we laughed and laughed
And laughed again
Over and over
Until tears came flowing down
Like rivers of relief!
