Dedication:  To artists Megan Chapman and Stewart Bremner
A collaborative series of paintings done by two wonderful artists who met in the spring of 2011.  Megan from the Ozarks and Stewart from Scotland quickly began painting together to form abstract mixed media series, “A Question of Chemistry” and now “A Place Called Home” series reflecting the greens, blues, whites of the geology of both Scotland and Arkansas.  “A Place Called Home” will be on display July 3-27 in Springdale at the Arts Center of the Ozarks (>artscenteroftheozarks.org) .  An artists’ reception honoring both is scheduled for 6 pm on July 10th.  More information is available on Facebook Megan Chapman> https://www.facebook.com/megan.chapman.artist and on her Studio Blog http://www.networkedblogs.com/blog/megan_chapmans_studio_blog  and through Etsy Artmaven Shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/artmaven

Writing Notes:

I was inspired by their story and art series “A Place Called Home” and loved their abstract piece entitled “Quiet Home”. Views of work in series at  http://chapmanbremner.blogspot.com/p/place-called-home.html Hope you enjoy!
A Quiet Home
among the Aquarius days
and the outer banks of nights
nearness
where the quiet reveals itself
and the veil is raised
–quiet home–
among the raised gardens
between night and day
horizon blues
a thousand star clusters
spin
over the grand knights round-table
offered hands
holding each day
embracing the solitude
–quiet home–
among the universal dance of Orion’s belt
the joy of living
finding heart in promises made
love
sky friendship rings
frame our earth’s
–quiet home–
among the everlasting fire vapors
bridging chasms of promises
wait
pull against memories
of white stark days
take me home to you
–quiet home–
among a million galaxies
and Scorpio night-filled-skies
there is only one
star
born of fire and ice
this one heart
the art of solitude
for you and me . . . for you and me . . . for you and me
–quiet home–
